Rapid progress

Drifting along the Yulong River

Yesterday we cycled to dragon bridge.I loved it but I loved it even more because we had to get a bamboo raft!
We first cycled to another bridge then clambered onto the raft. We had a gentle ride to begin with, then we were told to lift our legs up, we did though puzzled at this weird instruction. Then we heard the roar of water as if there was a lion in the water and saw the small waterfall known as a rapid. The rapid was big and the water rushed down, as we fell water leaped up and splashed us and it came up over the top of the raft! We loved it and were told that there 9 more!
We had another drift down stream, the driver punting us slowly and having a chat with another driver. We had 2 rafts both with 2 seats, they had no engine and the drivers had big bamboo sticks which they pushed against to get a nice speed. We had lots of rapids all the way to the end, some small and some that really made a splash.
At the end it got quite busy, there was a huge rapid and people were being punted up just to go down it, they were going up stream and it looked like hard work.
We ended the day with a film all snuggled up together, what a day.
