Careful you don’t knock them over, Will!
We went on a bus to see the Terracotta Warriors.
In the cinema, we saw how they were built. The Emperor was the one who brought China together in lots of battles. He defeated the other kingdoms and all the kings gave their flags to him. This Emperor built the Great Wall to protect China. When he died, he was buried in a tomb. Before he died, he made people (some of them were prisoners) make an army of clay soldiers. He believed they would come alive so he had an army in the afterlife. The poor people didn’t like the Emperor so they destroyed the tomb and broke most of the Terracotta Warriors. The tomb became buried. Some farmers found the tomb when digging a well.
We saw three massive pits where they were digging. The warriors were in the pits. Most were broken. We could see heads, armour, bodies and legs. There was a horses bottom poking out of a wall! The people had to fix them like a man jigsaw puzzle and we saw whole soldiers. There were ones who would have held spears or swords or bows or been on chariots. The wood was not there because it had rotted. In the big pit the soldiers were lined up in rows. There must have been more than 500. Every soldier was different.
We came home on the bus and Daddy marched us across town like soldiers. We had mini eggs on a stick, lamb kebabs and seedy bread and vegetable crispy pancake. For pudding, Ellie and I bought 4 chocolate biscuits and two buns. Yummy!
